Aquapalooza 2011 is wrapped up

After how fun Aquapalooza on Lake Travis was last year, I think it’s safe to

say that I’m hooked and completely jealous of those readers on Lake Havasu who got to attend. As much as the sponsors assert that it was a family boating event, I’m sure the Havasu crowd found a way to kick it up several notches. Craig Morgan of “Redneck yacht club” fame was the acheter viagra headliner and I’m sure that was absolutely fitting. They claim that it is now an viagra en argentina venta libre annual thing at Havasu, but I’ll be waiting to see. They said something similar on Lake Travis.

Lake Travis down to the last two ramps

Lake Travis is the Lake Boss’ local lake, so we keep a close eye on things here. The Texas drought has been going strong and it shows no signs of slowing. The lake is now down to the very last two ramps. Jones Brothers Park ramp is barely open at that, I

certainly wouldn’t launch there. So that leaves Mansfield Dam or one of the privately owned launches such as Highland Lakes Marina.

Lucas Oil World Finals

I always appreciate a great photo gallery of people doing things with a boat I wouldn’t be caught dead doing. I love doing some drag racing on land, but that’s because the asphalt doesn’t have waves. But that’s a great reason that watching drag boat racing is so fun. This is a great gallery of viagra sans ordonnance drag boat racing pictures that are extremely high resolution and very detailed. Definitely worth looking through the whole gallery, I saved a few for wallpaper they were so good. Especially check out the picture near the end with the big rooster tail and green exhaust flames.

Great lake destinations: Lake Powell

Tony Ferris from C-Brats Online! has posted a really great set of pictures from his trip to Lake Powell with his C-Dory boat. Some really fantastic photos of rain and the resulting waterfalls coming off the cliffs. I am sure the heavy rain can make for some hairy times on the lake, but it definitely pays off in awesome pictures.

Check it out here at C-Brats Online!

Asian carp ASSAULT

Usually you need a fishing pole and a fair amount of patience to catch a fish. It appears on this lake you can catch fish with a great swing of a baseball bat or a net hanging over the side of the boat. Towards the end the fish are so excited they decide to jump right in the captain’s lap.

Checkmate adds 55 MPH 20 ft model

Boatermouth is reporting that Checkmate is adding a 20 ft V-bottom model powered by a 115 HP outboard capable of speeds reaching 55 MPH. It will cost you $29,995 for the new 2000 BXR. More details are coming soon. This should be a fairly inexpensive way to get on the water and go fast. Doug Smith, Checkmate’s owner compares the model to a Bayliner:

“With the 115-hp engine, the boat runs 55 mph and gives the buyer a real performance-boating experience,” said Smith. “If you put the same buyer in a Bayliner, the boat runs 35 mph—it’s a slug. And when he goes to sell it, it won’t be worth anything.”
