Turbocharged F-150 in 2011

When it comes to pulling your boat, if your boat is of any considerable weight, most buyers would only consider a V8 engine. Ford is hoping that buyers will consider a turbo V6 before an entry level V8 from one of the other automakers. Autoblog summarizes the new engine choices:

Let’s start with the base engine, which quite thankfully puts the old 248-horsepower 4.6-liter, two-valve V8 out to pasture. The new 3.7-liter V6 powerplant may be down two cylinders from the mill it replaces, but it’s a much more modern design. Plus, with 302 horsepower and 278 pound-feet of torque, it’s also significantly more powerful.

Boat review: Monterey M5-MSX

Rarely do you find a boat does multiple things well. When I saw the combination of deckboat and wakeboard boat I thought for sure that was a mix like oil and water. Trailer Boats has shown otherwise in their review of the Monterey M5-MSX. It is a stern-drive boat with ballast tanks in a deck boat configuration. With the MerCruiser 350 Mag MPI/Bravo Three 300 HP package it has plenty of power to pull a skier or boarder out of the water and reaches a top speed of 47.5 MPH.

All this capability doesn’t come at a small price though. The Monterey M5-MSX will lighten your wallet to the tune of over six figures: $100,871. If you can do without all the snazzy features, the base model Monterey M5 will run you $79,179.
